2. Information We DO NOT Collect

Unlike traditional reward apps, Snag does not require account creation and does not collect personal identity information:

• No Personal Accounts: You do not need to register with your name, email address, phone number, or social media profile.
• No Server-Side Coupon Vaults: Your vouchers, promo codes, expiry dates, store names, and values are saved strictly in your phone's local SQLite database (via SQLDelight).
• No Cloud Photo Uploads: Screenshots you import for voucher scanning are processed on-device and stored in private local app sandboxes. They are never sent to external servers.
• No Sale of Personal Data: We never sell, monetize, rent, or trade your coupon or shopping habit data to brokers, merchants, or ad networks.

3. Information Processed On-Device

The App performs the following processing strictly within the hardware of your local device:

• On-Device Optical Character Recognition (OCR): When you import or scan a coupon screenshot, the App extracts text locally using platform-native machine learning APIs (Apple Vision Framework on iOS, Google ML Kit on Android). No image bytes or recognized text ever leave your phone.
• Local Expiry Calculations: Urgency calculations (e.g., Today, This Week, Later, Expired) and potential savings totals are calculated locally using on-device timestamps.
• Local Notifications: Reminder alerts are scheduled and triggered by the operating system's local notification daemon.

4. Device Permissions & How They Are Used

The App requests only the minimal system permissions required to provide its core utility:

• Photo Library Access (`NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription` / Read Media Images): Required only when you choose to import an offer screenshot or voucher photo to automatically extract coupon codes. You may revoke this permission in device Settings at any time.
• Notifications (`POST_NOTIFICATIONS`): Used to deliver timely reminders before saved rewards reach their expiration date. Notifications can be configured or disabled anytime in device Settings.

5. Diagnostics & Third-Party Services

To diagnose crashes, improve performance, and ensure reliability across different device hardware, we use standard, privacy-preserving mobile developer tools:

• Firebase Analytics / Google Play Services: Collects aggregated, non-personally identifiable diagnostic telemetry (e.g., app launches, OS versions, crash stack traces). These logs do not contain coupon codes, screenshot content, or user identity.
• In-App Review & Updates (Apple StoreKit & Google Play In-App Updates): Utilized to allow users to leave ratings and seamlessly install security updates via official platform stores.

6. Data Storage, Retention & Deletion

Because all reward records and screenshots are stored exclusively within your device's private app storage:

• Manual Deletion: You can edit or delete any reward at any time inside the App. Deleting a reward instantly removes the record and associated screenshot file from your device.
• Complete App Removal: Uninstalling the App from your device permanently and irreversibly deletes all stored coupons, database records, and settings.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

The App does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, the App is safe for all audiences.

8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA / CPRA)

Under international privacy regulations (including GDPR for EU residents and CCPA/CPRA for California residents), you retain rights over your personal data. Because Snag operates 100% offline without remote accounts or centralized servers, your right to access, rectify, restrict, and erase your data is fully in your hands via the App's built-in management controls.
